With Christmas season just around the corner, many are scouring the Internet to try and find the perfect gift for their partner. Whether you are on a budget this Christmas, or want to let your boo know that they will be loved through thick and thin read this blog before continuing your holiday shopping. This can even double as wedding/marriage prep.

Something to wear-

Although you have probably gone wedding dress shopping, now is the perfect excuse to purchase those wedding details that you have been thinking about.

Here are a few wedding related ideas:

For Her

♢ fancy hairpin
♢ earrings
♢ bracelet
♢ necklace
♢ shoes
♢ lingerie

For Him

♢ cufflinks
♢ perfume/cologne
♢ watch
♢ bow tie
♢ shoes
♢ special socks

You can also make your something to wear Christmas related, or even marriage related. Maybe you wanna get your future wife a dress to go out in on a date, or maybe you want to get your man that replacement leather jacket as his is pretty much done. You could buy an outfit for your engagement session, new hiking boots so you can keep on adventuring together or even makeup or fancy sunscreen and bug spray. Be creative! You could even get matching onesies for Christmas, or matching shoes, and hats!

Pro tip! If you don’t know their size but you want to get them something, ask your boo’s friend’s or family for their input..

Something to Read-

There are more then just stories in books. Here are a few suprising options you and your boo will love.

♢ an Audible subscription so they can listen to a book while cooking or cleaning
♢ a cookbook full of recipes you can try together
♢ a book on the place you are going to on your honeymoon (this could also be a way of hinting where you want to go)
♢ the Adventure Challenge book (not sponsored)
♢ a book full of activities to do on dates
♢ a book that you can read together
♢ a devotional or a new Bible
♢ a book on wedding planning

My favorite option:

♢ print a photo album of all your engagement photos, write little notes and poems to go in it and even use it as a guest book that all your guests sign. I offer these to all my wedding clients as a DFW wedding photographer and they all adore theirs.

Something they want:

Now, this can be broad; but there are so many possibilities:

♢ something from their Christmas wish list
♢something from your wedding registry
♢a date night of their chice
♢ a coupon book full of little tasks like, “I’ll make you what you want for dinner.”
♢ printed photos and albums
♢An engagement session
♢A bridal session

As a Dallas wedding photographer, I have plenty of couples who book engagement sessions and even bridal sessions as Christmas gifts, I also have clients who will purchase prints to put up at their wedding and in their home!

Pro tip! If you don’t know what they want and they have a Pinterest, you can hop online and look there!

Something they need:

I encourage you with this one to observe, think of the little things that your partner may need but not necessarily buy for themselves. Some options are:

♢ a new wallet to replace the one that is falling apart
♢ a new car battery
♢ luggage for your honeymoon trip
♢ wedding dress alterations
♢ a fancy haircut for the big day
♢A photo session to help you remember this season.

And there you have it! The poem goes:

Something You Want, Something You Need, Something To Wear, Something To Read.

My family has been doing this for a couple of years and it has been the biggest blessing because there are often some pretty useful things that have been given me along with the things that I have wanted.
