WEDDING - LUKAS AND NELLY / MAZATLAN, MEXICO

I had just gotten back to Mazatlan, Mexico from traveling and teaching in the south of Mexico for two months. I was nothing but excited… My second wedding in Mexico, my first trilngual experience - English, Spanish, and Swiss -German. This was one of the most fancy, yet super tranquilo (relaxed) weddings I have ever photographed. Being bilingual myself, I found it easy to navigate through the day, especially since the groom’s side understood English pretty well. I had been living in a multi-cultural campus in Mexico for over a year at this point, so when I was given the opportunity to photograph this wedding, I was able to go into it full heartedly, understanding that there would be cultural differences that were able to be embraced and captured. My favorite part, apart from celebrating Lukas and Nelly, was the reception in which Lukas’ family gave a beautiful performance singing in what I believe to be Swiss-German and German and of course a little bit in Spanish. Nelly’s family then brought in a Mariachi band that everyone danced the night away to. So, without further delay, here is the wedding.

Location: El Cid ; Second Shooter: Obed Gonzalez

To Lukas and Nelly: Fue un gusto documentar tu día. Oro por la mejor vida junto con Dios. Los amo y los extraño.
