“What do I get my Fiancé for Christmas?”

With Christmas season just around the corner and Black Friday coming up, many are scouring the Internet to try and find the perfect gift for their partner. With it having been a hard year, so many don’t know where to begin because they are either on a budget, or want to let their partner know that they will be loved through thick and thin. Before going out and holiday shopping, here is a go to Christmas list that can even double as wedding/marriage prep which is a plus.

Something to wear-

Although you have probably gone dress shopping and detail shopping, now is the perfect excuse to purchase those wedding details that you have been hemming and hawing about getting. Details such as cufflinks, perfume/cologne, a bow tie, that hair pin she’s been eyeing, earrings, a bracelet, shoes, special socks and underwear. You get the point. This can be Christmas related, or even marriage related, maybe you wanna get your future wife a dress to go out in on a date, or maybe you want to get your man that replacement leather jacket as his is pretty much done. You could buy an outfit for your engagement session, new hiking boots so you can keep on adventuring together or even makeup or fancy sunscreen and bug spray. Be creative! You could even get matching onesies for Christmas, or matching shoes, and hats!

Pro tip! If you don’t know their size but you want to get them something, guys, ask a girlfriend of theirs for their input, and ladies, call their mom, moms of men tend to know their size or can get it for you without it looking like you are the one getting them the gift.

Something to Read-

You both are probably spending a lot of time on the internet nowadays dreaming of and planning your future together, I’ve been there, so no judgement here. It is incredibly important to take time away from screens and relax for a bit. I know what you non book worms are thinking “but reading seems like a chore rather than relaxing.” That’s the beauty of this, you can switch it up! You can buy an Audible subscription so they have something to listen to while they clean the house, a cookbook full of recipes you can try together, a book on the place you are going to on your honeymoon (this could also be a way of hinting where you want to go), or you could even get the Adventure Challenge book, a book full of activities to do on dates! It might even be fun to purchase a book that you can read together, a devotional or a new Bible. Or, if you are still in the baby stages of wedding planning, you could get a book on wedding planning. The possibilities are endless, and it doesn’t even have to cost money because you could also write them a letter, or a poem that they can read on a walk outside. The whole point of “something to read” is to give your brain and eyes a break from looking at a screen all day.

Something they want:

Now this can be broad, it could actually be something that they put on their Christmas wish list, something from your wedding registry that you haven’t gotten yet, but really want to have, or maybe it’s a kayaking trip for your honeymoon. This is totally up to you! Maybe your partner really wants more clothes so you get them a Nordstrom gift card or maybe they just want a really special date with you. It doesn’t have to be expensive either, it could be that you give them a coupon book full of “I’ll make you what you want for dinner”, “I’ll buy you that one item you want from the mall”, “I’ll give you a massage whenever you want”. Or maybe they are a cuddler and they want to spend time with you watching a movie, you could purchase or rent a movie to watch together along with a cozy blanket, and some movie snacks and cuddle together.

Pro tip! If you don’t know what they want and they have a Pinterest, you can hop online and look there!

Something they need:

I encourage you with this one to observe, think of the little things that your partner may need but not necessarily buy for themselves: like maybe they need a new wallet, or on the extreme end, a car. I’m not saying you have to go all out and spend thousands of dollars, but think of the little things. Maybe they will be running out of dish sponges, and toothpaste, but they also seem a bit tense so you buy them a bottle of lavender oil to help them relax along with the toothpaste and sponges. Maybe they are tense and could use a massage. Maybe your partner needs new luggage for your honeymoon trip or maybe y’all need a new place for when you get married so you get in contact with the realtor who helps you put together resources on the best practices when buying a home. Or maybe it’s as simple as a gas card. This year has been hard, so think of the little things that could help make things easier.

And there you have it! The poem goes:

Something You Want, Something You Need, Something To Wear, Something To Read.

My mom has been doing this for a couple of years and it has been the BIGGEST blessing because there are often some pretty useful things that she has given me along with the things that I have wanted.

I would love to hear your ideas for this! Comment down below your list based on the poem, and as always if you have any questions, please feel free to ask them, I would be more than happy to answer them in the comment section below.
